Photography is an essential part of a business brand.
All great marketing professionals will advise that branding photography can make or break a business's marketing campaign. This is because bespoke photography that has been created specifically for the business has so much more power than stock photography.
It is not just for small businesses who may be solopreneurs. These businesses may require personal branding photography as often the business is really about the founder or person driving the business.
Branding photography needs a strategic overview of the business so that a set of images can be created which provide its visual identity, in line with it's brand personaltiy and brand story.
Professional branding photography
can increase market awareness amongst the target audience as well as moving potential clients along the purchasing route. The use of bespoke brand photography on your website can make it more appealing and increase engagement. Used in the right way it can prompt an emotional response that triggers a buying response.
Social media benefits from brand photography as the content is fresh and unique. Not only is the use of a business's brand photos more attention grabbing than stock images, but it underpin key messages through creative interpretation when image making. Also, algorithms like bespoke photography and will drive more traffic to this type of unique content.
A business's brand story feeds into it's photography.
Branding photography is all about creating a visual identity that can be used across all the marketing channels. It is an essential part of the marketing suite of materials. Often I work with other professionals to identify messages, develop the story board and plan a branding shoot.
The photography may take place at multiple locations, with a varitey of different people in photos whereby we can really show who the business is, what they do and what they represent.
Personal branding photography may be required for senior management of the business, and this can be part of the shoot. Photographs around the offices or facilities, or in meeting rooms can visually demonstrate how they do business, and sometimes enrolling clients in photos can give real life examples of projects or how interactions occur.
Sometimes headshots of all staff are required, and I advocate these are on brand (not homogenous white background passport-type photos!).
