Personal branding photography for start up, to visually show who they are and what they do.
Sole traders or small businesses are increasingly alive to the notion that they need to stand out and visually illustrate who they are and what they do. This builds their personal brand or underpins their brand messages and values. The images can be used for a PR launch campaign, across their website /social media messaging and of course on profile pictures on different platforms.
Creating photographs that are ‘fit for purpose’ is essential. Not just pretty pictures. Anyone can take a decent photograph, so it is the vision behind the image that is important, and how it is going to be used needs to be understood at the outset.
I organise an in depth planning meeting,
to understand the business and individuals involved. To ask pertinent questions that will enable me to start visualising how we are going to create personal branding photography that will really connect with the desired target market.
In this way I can advise on location (we may need to hire a venue or have multiple locations), clothes (we plan each outfit for each ‘theme’), who to include in the photos (whether models are required etc) and any props (for messaging/visual interest) that may work for what we are trying to achieve.
In the case of the Leadership Circuit,
this ex banker turned coach had lots of ideas and strands to her business that we wanted to create photos for… from executive coaching to group coaching to safari leadership retreats. That meant very meticulous planning and timetabling. We were able to capture the essence of her personality, the seriousness of her business and the ambition of her future Kenyan retreats. The photos were used to launch her business, on her website and over time to message on social media campaigns.
