Branding photography for strategic consultancy
which spans the world of Venture capital and Start Ups meant bringing together a team from across the globe. The vision of the founder, together with her connections, resulted in a branding photography shoot with people flying in from California and Portugal as well as from across the UK. It was important that this team, which would be working together, was photographed together.
The other element of the shoot was finding the right location. Again it was the founder's vision to have an elegant visual marketing offering, so the backdrop to the brand photos was very important. Eventually we decided upon Soho Works 180 Strand, which had just the right vibe. We were able to book a couple of rooms with different elements to them which gave us a variety of backdrops/locations to do the photography and get the variety we needed.
With a great location in London,
we were able to create a variety of branding photos of each individual as well as the sub teams working together. The key was to have a consistent feel to the profile pictures, which would be used for PR and on the website, as well as across the team photos which could be used for the website but also for pitch decks and PR.
With everyone arriving at different times for the branding photography day
the challenge was to keep organised and for me to put each person at their ease as it became their turn to go in front of the camera. For headshots and profile pictures, this meant giving them time and space to relax into each pose. For the group shots it takes more direction, but setting up how each person sits and interacts with the other(s) helps to ensure smooth running. At the end of the day branding photo shoots have to be an enjoyable experience, but it also has to deliver the results in the timeframe we had.
